Add Chrome Fixtures For A Luxurious Interior
Adding metallic touches to your home decor can bring a touch of opulence to any room, and mixing different metals in the same space is a key interior trend for the coming year.
This is according to Mansion Global, which highlighted mixed metals as one of the interior design trends to look out for in 2017, along with the use of dimensional textures and the introduction of natural materials as accents to interiors.
Amelia Ohm of LuxeDecor told the publication that “the resurgence of mixed metals signals the popularity of both industrial and minimalist design, and people’s unabashed mixing of the two”.
The publication suggested incorporating items with chrome, antique brass and oil-rubbed bronze finishes, among others.
It pointed out that subtle accents can be especially effective and don’t necessarily require a huge amount of effort or expense.
Adding a metal vase or pendant lamp, for example, can provide a splash of metal that brings a sense of luxury to a space. Featuring different finishes, such as chrome, brass and black lacquer, in the same space can be highly effective when done well, the publication added.
If you’d rather not buy new accessories for your home, you could update existing items by utilising chrome plating services to give them a new lease of life and ensure they fit in with this latest interior design trend.
Along with the move towards mixed metals, there are plenty of other design trends to look out for, with Vogue highlighting the popularity of the colour green, geometric prints and artisan-crafted furniture as among the top things to look out for in 2017.
